With 'Sedo', you can search a huge database of domain names that have been registered for sale or auction. It will also tell you if your domain is not registered yet - so grab it quick! Sedo also offer an excellent service to help you aquire, value or park a domain name. When you park a site with Sedo, they create a webpage with adverts targeted to that sites traffic and then share the revenue with you.

Everyone wants visitors to their website, but the quality of these visitors is critical. By quality, I mean how well targeted to your content the visitor is. Are they interested in what you have to offer, and are they even reading your site?

There are thousands of people marketing ways of increasing traffic to your site, but most seem pretty spammy. I tried out one that promissed more legitimate traffic at a very low cost (got to be a catch).

Revisitors claim they buy up old domain names and redirect the traffic to your site. So Joe bloggs follows an old link or types the address of a site but ends up looking at your site. They claim it's reasonably well targeted because they select suitable sites which match the interests you specify.
I gave them a try with a small order of 5000 hits for £15. There appeared to be very little activity from the visitors with only about 10 of the 5000 visitors actually browsing around. I placed a javascript timer so I could see how long the visitor stayed, and to my surprise they typically stayed for a long time (between 10 minutes and 3 hours) but without changing page, or closing the browser window!?

By comparison to Google Adwords, I found Adwords to be cheaper per useful action than Revisitors. However, my experiment may not have made the best of the visitors. A simple eye catching graphic to initially catch attention may prove more successful.
